dc.description.abstract | The Prehospital Care-PHC is characterized as any assistance provided outside the hospital. Living in this environment may contribute to tension and stress. The aim of this study is to evaluate the stress level of workers in a service emergency mobile service in Sao Luis - MA. This is a descriptive study, quantitative, in which participated all the industry professionals who were working day in the period from January to February this year including staff from each professional class, to ensure representativeness by category. The survey was conducted in three stages when the 19 hours to include professionals in shifts day and night. For this, we used the instrument Stress Symptoms Inventory for Adults Lipp - ISSL in which they found that the total of 106 workers interviewed, most were male and aged between 31 and 40 years. We noticed an increased frequency in the profession of nursing technician / paramedic, monthly income of most professionals is between 1001 to 2000 real and most of the respondents worked over 40 hours per week in shifts interspersed. It was found that the 106 workers interviewed, 62 admitted to feel stressed, 77 were really stressed out in accordance with the instrument used. Among the reasons given as a cause of stress, high workload was the major cause shown. Most professionals felt stressed in the phase II of stress (resistance) phase associated with significant loss in quality of life, which can directly interfere in the practice of these professionals.
